Dr. Mark Yackel-Juleen

Dr. Mark Yackel-Juleen is the Director, with Margaret Yackel-Juleen, of Shalom Hill Farm continuing education and retreat center.  He served as a pastor of two rural congregations for seven years and during that time both congregations grew significantly in membership, attendance, and financial stewardship.  He has a Doctor of Ministry degree focused on leadership dynamics for the rural church and is currently serving as lead pastor of a staff serving 5 rural congregations and a special ministry.

  


Dr. Winston Persaud

Dr. Winston D. Persaud is Professor of Systematic Theology at Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa, where he has been a member of the faculty for over twenty-two years. A native of Guyana, Dr. Persaud earned his Ph. D. degree from the University of St. Andrews, St. Andrews, Scotland, and a M. Div. degree from Wartburg Seminary. He is an ELCA pastor who served his home congregation in Georgetown, Guyana, 1980-84, before he began teaching at Wartburg Seminary. He has deep commitment to ministry in a variety of settings and has pastored in rural settings in Guyana.  He loves teaching the Christian faith in ways that are faithful to both Scripture, the Christian tradition and the Confessions, as well as to the contextual realities of the people.
